Merry Christmas!

Wow, its Christmas and I am at home. I have just woken up, and I have nothing planned to do today. Sleeping is fun.
I should be doing something productive, and I'll start by listing the things I am grateful for. This kind of post is usually reserved at the end of the year but I doubt if I'll have time by then, so here it is:
1) Encountering God - I am a Christian. I have been for most of my life since I grew up in a Christian family. But I never served him actively. I always believed that I was not fit to lead so I would avoid any situation where I would have to lead. But God met me. I encountered God and He told me that He is the one running the show. All I have to do is obey Him and He would do everything, provide for everything. I am now actively involved in Church ministries. Yey!
2) Our dogsies - They are such a joy. We have a 1-yr old toy poodle and a 4-month old chihuahua. They may be high-maintenance (I'm actually a cat person), but they relieve our stress and tension. Now if only they were potty-trained...
3) My academics - This year I graduated from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Whenever I look back, I always wonder how I was able to get through four years of exams, papers, quizzes, projects, and cramming. Then it hits me: its only through His grace that I was able to do it. And next year, when I am taking up my MA in Psychology, I will rely on His grace again.
4) the wonderful world of LJ - I never imagined that I would actually start a journal online, but because I really, really needed to find people who share my fandom (my arashi fandom in particular), here I am, writing stuff no one reads, improving my writing skills (hopefully). I thank God for these wonderful people who share their love for free. Its just awesome.
5) My lappie - I got my notebook as a graduation gift from my dad, and now I feel so lost without it. I once had to fast so I decided to turn off my lap top for one day, and I felt like I was suffering withdrawal symptoms. I love love love my lappie. It makes translation and editing so much faster and easier. I just need to start backing up files to clear disk space.
6) My freelancing life - its the next best thing to being a bum. While my batchmates are dissecting animals in med school, dissecting law suits in law schools, and are being dissected in the corporate world, here I am, lying around. I actually work lying down! I don't have to wake up early to get to school/work, I don't have to stay up late for work/school. If I do wake up early or stay up late, its because I want to. I never had to do make a resume to impress some people and I don't have to break my neck, trying to please my boss or my co-workers. And I work when I want to. I love my life! (Speaking of work, I have to start working soon).
7) My Bible Software - It may sound weird, but because of this software, I was able to have regular Quiet Times. And it has all this cool additions, like maps, concordances, dictionaries, commentaries, and other stuff which would make studying the Bible so much easier. Its really, really awesome.
8) My Discipleship Group - Yey to the highest level! I finally have a discipler--for life! I praise God for this opportunity to be discipled and to become a disciple. No more bench-warming for me. I also have 12 new sisters who I know the Lord will use mightily to bless me, keep me in check, and transform me in the person He designed me to be. I am so psyched for 2011!
9) God's work in my Family - The changes in them are so clear, you could almost grab hold of these changes. The Lord is dealing with my dad about his temper and using him to bless his students and friends. He is using my mom mightily as a cell group leader, an encourager, and member of the church board. He is also working in my siblings, using them in the music ministry and in the lives of their frinds, co-workers.classmates. It is so awesome how God is with this family, and working through us and in us. Praise be His Name!
10) Second Chances - I have always been complacent with my standing as a Christian. I knew and was assured that I was saved so I didn't really feel compelled to serve in Church or even be involved in church or even attend church regularly. I kept justifying that I'm a loner. That's just how I am, I am not fit to have fellowship with others. I used so many excuses and believed in them, not realizing that I was going along the enemy's plan to hinder me from serving my Lord and God. So I praise God for revealing to me the lies of the enemy and for giving me yet another chance to serve Him. This time, I will empty myself completely--my preconceptions, anxiety, fears, phobias, pride, criticalness--and submit to Him. I will be an empty vessel, ready for the use of my Master for the Kingdom.
I will continue this list...I just really, really have to work now.
I am so excited for 2011! For I know that the Lord will reveal His great and mighty works to me and through me. I'm giving 2011 for you Lord!
