Happy 5x15!

Classes in all levels are suspended here in Manila because a storm has made land-fall, bringing in rain and strong winds. Meanwhile, in Japan, another storm is making headlines, making and breaking records, causing havoc around the world. And this is the one storm I've been wishing would land in the country.

Forgive my attempt at wit. I just wanted to make sure that I at least give a shout out to my major fandom. There are so many reasons why I love them and I honestly have to make a proper list one of these days, but yeah. I will get back to this post to make complete the list.

15 Things I love about Arashi
(in no particular order)

1. They are not afraid to be themselves
- even after they've become the top stars, they haven't changed much. The adventurous, experimenting, nipple-exposing dorks in USO Japan, D no Arashi, Arashi no Shukudai-kun are the same guys you'll see in VS Arashi and Arashi ni Shiyagare. They are not above failing, being the butt of jokes, and making a fool of themselves. They don't have an image or a character they play. There is no "off" or "on" with them.

2. They genuinely care for one another
- Their way of showing their love and concern for the other members vary due to their different personalities, but you cannot miss it. Whether its from individual interviews (where they mention another member) or from watching them, you can feel it. From the obvious (buying souvenirs for the others, exchanging birthday presents and greetings) to the more covert, less obvious (like when Ohno untied Nino's shoes for him so he didn't have to bend down and hurt his back), their love for each other makes us fans love them all the more--individually and as a group.

3. They remain humble and genuinely grateful
- For them, "Arashi" is not an entity that is limited to the five of them as members. Arashi includes the staff and everyone who has supported them to get where they are now. They work hard because they know that those people (and their fans) are watching over them. They always give their best because it's their way of saying thank you.  And it shows--from their concerts, ther variety shows, and individual works. Their thank you songs (5x10, Sketch, La Familia) are heartfelt and are not mere song lyrics.
