Hana Kimi rocks!
I've finally finished reading Hanazakari no Kimitachi e manga by Nakajo Hisaya sensei. I enjoyed the manga more than the jdorama starring Horikita Maki and Oguri Shun. Probably because OguShun's Sano was pouting too much? (not that he is not cute when he pouts). Sano in the manga had more doki-doki-inducing lines and actions. The manga's ending was simple compared to the jdorama where every actor had a 3 minute speech for Mizuki. Their last chance for screen-time. I suppose its not fair to compare a 12 episode+ SP jdorama with a 21 volume manga.
I really like Horikita Maki. She would be the perfect Fujioka Haruhi if they turn Ouran Host Club into a live-action drama. I don't know what it is about her that makes her able to pull off these male roles perfectly. She was phenomenal in Tokyo Boy. I totally fell in love with her there.
Ikuta Toma was loveable as Nakatsu! He was so funny, especially when he does his charades thing during his inner monologues. He was also impressive as Serizawa Naoto in Maou. I just thought his frame was too thin to be a gun-busting police officer (compared to Uhm Tae Woong's Kang Oh Soo in the original Mawang).
I've had enough of seeing Oguri Shun pout. He pouts as Hanazawa Rui in HanaDan, as Tottori Kenichi in Juui Doolittle, as Uchiyama in Gokusen, as Takiya Genji in Crows Zero, as Aida Koichi in Robokon...you get what I mean. He needs more smiling roles like in Binbo Danshi. And hot roles like Takakura So in Tokyo Dogs. And he was adorable as the bullied Yoshikawa in GTO. Who would have thought that that puny kid would grow up as Takiya Genji?
I haven't watched the taiwanese version of Hana Kimi. Should I?
